The Termcast app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. This website keeps a single anonymous number — how many distinct visitors it has had — and nothing else.
The Termcast app does not collect any information from you. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics, no tracking, and no telemetry. We have zero knowledge of who you are or how you use the app.
We do not use any third-party analytics services, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels — in the app or on this website. There is no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no anything. The app does not phone home.
The counter in the corner of this site is the number of distinct visitors it has ever had. To know whether you are new without knowing who you are, your IP address is combined with a secret value and put through SHA-256; only the resulting hash is stored. Your IP address itself is never written to disk. The hash cannot be reversed into an address, we cannot look up an address to see if it is in the table, and the record holds nothing else — no pages, no referrer, no session, no user agent, no location.
There is no cookie and no identifier placed on your device for this. If you would rather not be counted, blocking requests to our relay domain, or any content blocker, prevents it entirely; the site works exactly the same either way.
This website remembers two preferences in your browser's local storage: whether you chose the light or dark theme, and whether you dismissed the banner at the top. Both stay on your device, are readable only by this site, and are never transmitted anywhere.
All terminal data stays between your device and your server. When using the relay service, your terminal traffic is end-to-end encrypted using X25519 key exchange and AES-GCM. The relay server cannot read your data — it only forwards opaque encrypted blobs.
Connection credentials (usernames, passwords, and encryption keys) are stored exclusively in your device's iOS Keychain. They never leave your device and are never transmitted to us or any third party.
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.
Since we collect no data from anyone, we also collect no data from children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Given that we collect nothing, we don't expect much to change.
